Jochen BAUERREIS’ conference on the topic “International sale of goods and arbitration in Europe” which he held in the course of a workshop at the China EU School of Law at the University of China in Peking on 20th June 2016 was published on 24th May 2017.
The purpose of this contribution is on the one hand to present the characteristics of international arbitration in Europe and in particular to demonstrate the improvement for the common international practice resulting from the reform of the French law of arbitration in 2011 and on the other hand to point out the existing similarities between the arbitration as an alternative dispute resolution method and the United Nations Convention on contracts for the international sale of goods (CISG).
